STEP 1: Apply the Undercoat

Draw the leaves and apply a wash of Aureolin with a no. 10 round.

STEP 2: Define the Local Color

Glaze Quinacridone Violet onto the edge and back of each leaf using a no. 10 round. Then apply Hooker’s Green, followed by premixed Bamboo Green and Sepia wet-into-wet. If excess color remains on the leaves, just remove it with a damp brush.

STEP 3: Add the Details

Glaze around the thick, fuzzy vein with premixed Bamboo Green and Sepia using a no. 8 round. To create the wavy texture and teeth, make big bumps with a glaze of a dark mixture of Bamboo Green and Sepia. Using the tip of a damp no. 12 round, lift off some of the color from the veins for details.
